Community Outreach
Three Mile Island conducts a comprehensive community outreach program to keep the public informed in a timely fashion about events and activities at the plant. TMI's management is dedicated to keeping the lines of communication open in order to develop and maintain trust. Three Mile Island has a speakers bureau that is happy to go out into the community and give presentations to area school children, civic groups, and other local community groups. If your organization would like to have a presentation given at your next meeting, please
contact us with information about your organization or event.
TMI's community outreach program also includes tours for key stakeholders, TMI status reports presented to local governing boards during public meetings, a charitable giving program, advertising, and a Citizens Awareness Panel. TMI's goal is to keep the public informed about events occurring at the station as well as educating them about nuclear energy and its benefits.
Also, a communications representative is available on a 24/7 basis to handle media inquiries. TMI maintains a strong relationship with the local and regional news media that cover the plant. TMI keeps key stakeholders informed by conducting courtesy calls to inform stakeholders of activities or events that may interest TMI's neighbors and the public.
