Volunteerism
Three Mile Island employees donate hundreds of hours each year to help local non-profit organizations reach their goals.
Several employees at the station are involved in North American Young Generation in Nuclear and they volunteer their time to host events that benefit the youth in the community. Examples of their volunteer activities include acting as judges at the Capital Area Engineering and Science Fair and hosting a "Bowl for Kids Sake" event to raise money for the Lancaster County Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Many employees live in the local community because they work at TMI Unit 1, and they are active volunteers in the community. Many volunteer to coach youth sports, volunteer at area schools and volunteer with local Boys Scouts or Girl Scouts troops.
Volunteerism is supported by Three Mile Island management and by the plant's parent company, Exelon Corporation. Employees are notified about volunteer opportunities through TMI's communications department, so if your organization is looking for volunteer support, please contact us with information about your organization or event.
