1/24/2010 - Three Mile Island Unit 1 Returns to Service
Three Mile Island Unit 1 (TMI-1) is back online after completing a 90-day refueling and maintenance outage. The unit began generating electricity again at 7:28 a.m. today when the plant was connected to the regional power grid. Local residents will once again see water vapor coming from both of the Unit 1 cooling towers.

12/17/2009 - Three Mile Island Employees Come Through Again: Contribute Over $200,000 to the 2009 United Way Campaign
Three Mile Island Generating Station today announced that its employees contributed $202,000 to the 2009 Capital Region and Lancaster United Way campaigns. This is the largest amount ever contributed by Three Mile Island employees.

Outage workers at Three Mile Island Unit 1 who were sent home Saturday evening returned to work Sunday and today and normal outage work has resumed.

11/21/2009 - Employees Sent Home After Small Amount of Contamination Found Inside Three Mile Island Reactor Building
About 150 employees working inside the shut-down Three Mile Island Unit 1 containment building were sent home about 4:00 p.m. EST Saturday after an airborne radiological contamination alarm inside the reactor building sounded.

11/19/2009 - Exelon Nuclear to Replace Sirens Around Three Mile Island Generating Station
Exelon Nuclear will begin a project next week to replace all 96 emergency sirens in the 10 miles around erating Station with sirens that include battery back up. The first phase of the project will have contractors visit and identify certain features of each existing siren.

Exelon Nuclear’s Three Mile Island Generating Station Unit 1 today broke the world record for longest continuous days of operation among all pressurized water reactors in the world when operators shut the plant down for a scheduled refueling outage.

The event will raise more than $57,000 for the fire company, bringing the four-year total raised by TMI to $240,000

7/14/2008 - Three Mile Island Contributes $25,000 to Lower Dauphin Bookmobile
Three Mile Island Generating Station is contributing $25,000 to the Lower Dauphin Communities That Care organization. The contribution will be made at a presentation on Tuesday, July 15 at 10:00 a.m. at the TMI Training Center. The donation will be used to sponsor a Bookmobile that serves youngsters in Londonderry, Conewago, East Hanover and South Hanover Townships and Hummelstown Borough. It is the single largest cash donation made to Communities That Care by a private contributor.

6/25/2008 - Three Mile Island Sirens to be Tested June 26
On Thursday, June 26 at 12:15 p.m. EDT all 96 emergency notification sirens in the 10-mile radius around Three Mile Island Generating Station will be sounded for three minutes. AmerGen Energy Co. is conducting the test in cooperation with Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York Counties and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA).

2/27/2008 - Three Mile Island Raises $3,600 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lancaster County
Three Mile Island is donating $3,600 to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lancaster County. The funds were raised as part of Three Mile Island’s participation in a Bowl For Kids’ Sake event to be held at Clearview Lanes in Mount Joy on Saturday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m. Twenty TMI employees are participating in the event. The total donated includes a $2,500 corporate contribution and $1,100 raised by employees.
