Plant Upgrades
TMI spends about $10 million each year in capital improvements. From 2005 to 2009, approximately $500 million has been invested into TMI Unit 1. Highlights of recent equipment upgrades to ensure continued safe operations and to ensure essential electricity is supplied to the region, include:
- Turbine rotor replacements
- Reactor vessel head replacement
- Main transformer replacement
- Auxiliary transformer replacement
